Design-led range aims to shift home adaptations from reactive to preventative

Accessible living solutions specialist PROCare is challenging long-standing approaches within the sector, as it launches its Invisible Creations range through mainstream retailer Dunelm.
Despite falls being one of the leading causes of injury in the UK, most home adaptations are still introduced only after an incident has occurred.
PROCare’s Invisible Creations range aims to change that by encouraging earlier adoption. The products are dual-purpose grab rails designed as everyday bathroom accessories, including toilet roll holders, towel rails and shelving, combining safety with design-led appeal.
A key barrier to early adoption has historically been the clinical appearance of traditional products, which many people are reluctant to introduce into their homes.
By contrast, Invisible Creations has been developed to integrate seamlessly into modern living environments, helping to reduce stigma and support proactive decision-making.
Jo Seddon, Design Manager at Dunelm, said: “As part of our ongoing commitment to help create the joy of truly feeling at home, for each and every customer, we’re delighted to be expanding our range with PROCare products.
“Building our offer to satisfy all customer needs around the home is a key part of our ambition and this partnership helps take us further forward.”
PROCare brings over 25 years of experience working within the housing and adaptation sector, where the consequences of falls and delayed intervention are well understood.
Laura Wood, Head of Influence and Innovation at PROCare, said: “Accessible products have historically been something people accept because they feel they have no choice.
“We created Invisible Creations to remove the stigma around home adaptations and to give people options they actually want in their homes.
“When products are designed well, they can be introduced earlier, supporting independence and helping people feel more confident in their own space.”
The range has already seen strong uptake through QVC, B&Q and direct sales, demonstrating demand for more design-led solutions within the category.
The launch through Dunelm raises wider questions for the sector around how accessible products are positioned, prescribed and adopted, particularly in relation to prevention and long-term independence.
Earlier this year, PROCare was recognised with two awards for its impact on delivering accessible adaptations at scale across social housing at the 2026 Efficiency East Midlands Building Communities Awards.
