Hull & East Yorkshire Powerchair Football Club
Hull & East Yorkshire Powerchair Football Club has formed a partnership with Derbyshire Mobility.

Ripley-based mobility retailer Derbyshire Mobility has formed a new three-year partnership with Hull & East Yorkshire Powerchair Football Club, a charity which enables physically disabled people to play a fast-paced team game.

The partnership will see Derbyshire Mobility working closely with the club – formerly known as East Riding Electric Eels – supplying tyres to its first team, who play competitively on a national and regional level, as well as providing support for equipment repairs, plus much more.

The club will in turn be promoting the work and services of Derbyshire Mobility, a family-run mobility business with 23 years’ experience selling and advising on mobility scooters, stairlifts, reclining furniture and powerchairs.

Craig Vernon, Wheelchair and Seating Specialist, Derbyshire Mobility, said: “Having worked with the East Riding Eels in the past, as well as attending the games and training sessions, I have witnessed first-hand what great work the club is doing, not only promoting growth within the sport, but building a unique and inclusive family atmosphere around the whole club.

“This is a new venture for Derbyshire Mobility, and we are very excited about the new relationship and the possibilities to work with the club in the future.”

Formed in 2012, most of the members of Hull & East Yorkshire Powerchair Football Club are people that can’t physically play sports like wheelchair basketball and struggle to find a team sport they can take part in independently. According to the club, players vary from those playing competitively to those who come for social activity.

Kai Gill, Marketing & Communications Officer at Hull & East Yorkshire PFC said: “We’re proud to announce this partnership with Derbyshire Mobility. Following conversations with Craig at Derbyshire Mobility it was pleasing to hear how he wanted to continue to work closely with the club.

“We are excited to be working closely with Craig, and his colleagues promoting the great work Derbyshire Mobility do.”
