Dash Rehab introduces innovative lightweight heavy duty powerchair to the UK market
Mobility equipment supplier Dash Rehab has launched a heavy duty powered wheelchair into the UK market which it claims is the lightest of its kind on the market.
Weighing 17kg without the battery, the Dash Carbon Max HD is made from T1000 carbon fibre – a material known for its high strength-to-weight ratio and its use in professional cycling, aerospace, and motorsport. The tensile (T) strength, 1000 in this instance, means the Carbon Max HD boasts an “exceptionally strong” frame while also keeping the overall carry weight down.
With intuitive controls, safety belt and shock absorbing front and rear wheels with suspension, Dash Rehab states that the Carbon Max HD is built to give users the freedom to move with confidence. This is underpinned by the advanced magnetic braking system which guarantees secure, responsive braking.
The powerchair boasts a 12-15km range per charge, with a top speed of 6km/h, making it ideal for longer outings such as trips to the shops, commuting, or just exploring. The 10 amp lithium battery is removable for charging flexibility, and an extra 20 amp battery is also available.
Offering a smooth, quiet performance indoors or out, the powerchair boasts powerful dual 250W brushless motors which deliver better control and a consistent ride with every journey.
The armrest flips up for side transfer, making it safer and easier for the user to get in and out of the powerchair, while transferring to and from the chair is made easier with the adjustable flip up footplate.
Accommodating a user weighing up to 200kg and coming with a 21-inch seat width, the chair is designed to provide durable, daily mobility without sacrificing comfort or convenience. It folds down quickly and efficiently, making it easy to store, lift, or transport.
