Complete Care Shop incontinence campaignEcommerce retailer Complete Care Shop is launching a national awareness campaign aimed at challenging the stigma around male urinary incontinence.

The retailer hopes that its campaign will improve access to support, and empower men to seek practical solutions that improve daily quality of life.

For years, urinary incontinence has been portrayed primarily as a women’s health concern, yet clinical research consistently shows that men are significantly impacted too.

Studies indicate that between 11-32 per cent of men experience some form of urinary leakage, and prevalence increases sharply with age, prostate conditions, and post-surgery recovery. Many men delay seeking help due to embarrassment or misconceptions about available treatments and support options.

Venessa Hodgson, Managing Director at Complete Care Shop, comments: “The silence surrounding male incontinence is one of the biggest barriers to improving men’s wellbeing.

“The reality is that millions of men are affected, but very few feel comfortable talking about it, even with their GP. Our campaign is about reassurance, education, and making sure men know that effective, discreet solutions exist.”

While symptoms can be mild or occasional, studies have shown that male incontinence can have a profound impact on emotional wellbeing, social connection, physical health and relationships.

Despite this, data shows that only a small percentage of men ever seek treatment or support, and even fewer are aware that products designed specifically for male anatomy are readily available and highly effective.

Complete Care Shop is trying to help reduce the stigma by publishing educational articles, press outreach, and social media stories which highlight real experiences and expert insights, and encourage open conversations.

The retailer offers a wide selection of male-specific incontinence aids, including pads, shields, protective boxers, bedding protection, and absorbent products designed for comfort and discretion.

Its campaign also aims to encourages early conversations with healthcare professionals to prevent symptoms from worsening and to ensure men receive appropriate care and guidance.

“Because incontinence is invisible, the emotional toll is often underestimated,” Venessa added. “We regularly hear from men who have gone months, or even decades, without asking for help because of embarrassment. Our message is simple, you are not alone, and support is available.”
