Closomat works with The OT Service to connect with OTs through online learning series
A specialist manufacturer of wash and dry toilets, Closomat has developed an online learning series in coordination with The OT Service to engage with occupational therapists (OTs)
With The OT Service’s connection to a range of OTs, Closomat will have the opportunity to connect with those who influence customers’ decisions when it comes to purchasing essential mobility and independent living products.
These ‘Learn and Lunch’ informative 30-minute sessions are designed to help OTs to enhance their practice and support their professional development, by focussing on a range of “hot topics” that OTs are currently discussing in the area of assisted toileting.

Each webinar will comprise of an initial pre-recorded presentation, with demonstrations of Closomat products where applicable, followed by a live Q&A between senior OTs from The OT Service.
Stephen Edwards, Head of Sales and Marketing at Closomat, said: “We’ve seen through our very successful webinar programme, which has been running now for around 18 months, that there is a huge thirst for knowledge amongst OTs, particularly in the area of toileting.
“After consulting with OTs, we recognised that there was a role for punchier sessions, to complement the more in-depth webinars, which could be attended during a lunch hour, for example.”
The first session is ‘Future-proofing to accommodate changing needs’ on Wednesday 27 April at 12 pm.
It will cover how OTs can assess long-term needs on an initial assessment; how future-proofing links with recommendations made after an assessment; compatibility of accessories, such as shower chairs; and further general advice around this issue.
Future sessions currently planned are ‘Who benefits from a wash and dry toilet’, ‘How to use a wash and dry toilet properly’, and ‘Plus-size clients and wash/dry toilets’.
The accessible bathroom specialist is not new hosting online webinar series to reach influential prescribers. Closomat and The OT Service partnered up to hold their first joint webinar for occupational therapists in 2022, which focused on the impact of neurological trauma on bathroom activity.
