Closomat OT service webinar
Assisted bathing specialist Closomat and The OT Service have partnered up to hold their first joint webinar for occupational therapists (OTs) in 2022 focusing on the impact of neurological trauma on bathroom activity.

This first webinar, ‘Neurological – Impact of neurological trauma on bathroom activity’, will take place at 11am on 24 March 2022.

Interested participants can register for the free webinar here.

Scheduled to run for an hour, the webinar will reflect on the different types of neurological trauma and the impact on occupational performance. It will review potential activity analysis and discuss the impact on toileting specifically and it will consider intervention strategies to maximise independence and occupational engagement.

Finally, the webinar will explore the application of a model of practice to identify the impact bathroom adaptations have on long‐term health and wellbeing for clients with neurological trauma

Adam Ferry, OT Service Director, said: “Like all the webinars, we only have around 40 minutes to cover a given topic, which you can image is tricky. However it provides us with the challenge of being succinct and on-message.”

When the webinar has finished, Closomat will be publishing complementary documents that directly support the content delivered by The OT Service during the webinar.

Robin Tuffley, Closomat Marketing Manager, added: “Now that we have a proven model for our webinars, demonstrated by the sheer numbers that attend live or watch them on our YouTube Channel, we felt it was time to update the content further.

“Additionally, we have recently strengthened our clinical web content with the creation of our ‘Disabilities and Conditions Guide’, which reconciles the use of a wash/dry toilet with certain disabilities.”

Closomat’s webinar series is now taking place quarterly. Previous CPD events hosted by the bathing specialist include sessions on accessible home adaptations for stroke survivors, accessible bathroom design to support independence and how to ensure dignity and independence when working with bariatric clients.
