Clearwell Mobility celebrates 30 years of supporting independence in Staines-upon-Thames
Clearwell Mobility’s showroom at Staines-upon-Thames has reached a significant milestone: 30 years of helping people across the town and the surrounding area maintain their independence, mobility and quality of life.
Since opening its doors in 1996, the showroom has become a trusted part of the local community, supporting thousands of customers and their families with expert advice, practical guidance and solutions tailored to their individual needs.
While changes of ownership and advances in mobility technology have shaped the business over three decades, its purpose has stayed the same: helping people live independently and with confidence. That legacy continues under the Clearwell Mobility name.
The showroom’s journey began in 1996 when it was opened by Keep Able. In 2009, the business became part of Hearing & Mobility, another respected name in the sector, with a strong reputation for customer care and expertise.
A new chapter followed in June 2016 when Clearwell Mobility acquired the branch, securing the future of the services local people had come to rely on.
Over the past 30 years, the showroom has helped customers find the right solutions for a wide range of mobility and independent living needs — from mobility scooters and powered wheelchairs to riser recliner chairs, stairlifts and daily living aids. Generations of local families have turned to the Kingston Road showroom for trusted advice and support during some of the most important moments in their lives.
While many people have contributed to the showroom’s success, no account would be complete without mentioning its showroom manager, Josie, who joined the team in April 2003. More than 23 years on, she’s still the first person many customers ask for. Her knowledge, care and continuity are integral to the continued success of the business.
Over the years, she has helped thousands of customers and their families navigate mobility challenges, providing expert advice, reassurance and practical solutions. Her knowledge, experience and commitment to customer care have made her a familiar and trusted face within the local community.
Having worked through changes in ownership, product innovations and evolving customer needs, Josie has remained a constant presence for customers seeking friendly, professional guidance. Many customers return specifically to see her; others come recommended by friends and family she has helped before.
Her long service reflects the values that have underpinned the showroom throughout its 30-year history: expertise, continuity and a genuine commitment to improving people’s everyday lives.

In recent news, Clearwell Mobility announced the acquisition of two long established mobility retailers in Wiltshire and Oxfordshire which increases the number of showrooms it operates from 11 to 16.
