Charity offers grants to help older residents remain independent in their own homes
The Mary Elizabeth Siebel Trust, which is based in Newark, Nottinghamshire, is helping elderly people to stay independently in their homes for as long as possible.
During the pandemic, the charity’s trustees have been accepting applications for grants, with an aim of helping as many older people in Newark as possible.
The grants can be used for a range of items, including mobility aids, riser recliners, bathing aids, specialist beds, stairlifts and minor property adaptations.
The aim of the trust is to help people over the age of 60 with grants to help them stay in their own homes and be as mobile as they can for as long as possible but who find it hard because of health and financial reasons.
According to the Newark Advertiser, applicants must meet requirements, like living within 12 miles of Newark Town Hall.
Anyone who wants to apply for a grant needs to complete an application form, which is available from Tallents Solicitors in Newark. The application must be supported by a doctor or healthcare professional, and the financial situation will be considered.
