Care & Independence training eventMoving and handling specialists Care & Independence have just released three training dates for its 2025 programme which are now available to book online via its website.

Delivered by Level-4 RoSpa accredited trainers, the company-hosted course is aimed at healthcare professionals for whom sling prescription and fitting is an occupational requirement.

Steve Watson, National Sales Assessment Manager, commented: “We know from years of experience of working alongside clinicians, care providers, and prescribers that there is still a level of uncertainty surrounding the use of slings.

“With so many different sling options, considerations, and fitting techniques, it’s hardly surprising that even a seasoned professional can feel overwhelmed or unsure.

“The training we as a company present aims to bridge this knowledge gap and empower individuals to make more informed professional decisions that will ultimately help improve the lives of those in their care.”

The 2025 Care & Independence Training Programme covers the essential skills and considerations every sling-based care professional needs to know.

Addressing critical factors such as sizing implications, differing sling styles, and associated equipment considerations, the course blends theory with hands-on practical sessions, teaching best practice fitting techniques from seated and supine. Delegates also receive a certificate upon completion and a useful reference booklet guide.

Counting towards Continuous Professional Development, the training is offered free of charge on a first come-first-served basis. Spaces are limited so early booking is recommended to secure a place.

Training events are currently scheduled for Leeds on 29th April, Liverpool on 20th May, and 3rd June in Crawley. Full information about each event is available on the company website.

For additional localised training requests, parties are encouraged to contact their local Area Sales Manager to discuss individual requirements.

Oxfordshire-headquartered Care & Independence manufactures slings, shower chairs and cradles and stretchers, alongside selling a varied range of mobility aids and products to hospitals, nursing and residential homes and private customers. The moving and handling manufacturer recently introduced two new products to its bathroom solution line-up.
