The Business Disability Forum (BDF) has launched a collection of free-to-access disability resources offers essential guidance for all businesses, including  the mobility and access sector.

The Disability Essentials range covers key areas including attracting and recruiting disabled talent; being an inclusive manager; managing workplace adjustments; welcoming disabled customers; and understanding the law around disability.

Diane Lightfoot, CEO, Business Disability Forum, said: “Businesses often tell us that they want to do more to attract and retain disabled employees or to meet the needs of disabled customers, but don’t know how.

“We have created the Disability Essentials range to provide all businesses with key disability guidance on topics that we are most often asked about. We hope that many organisations will find the resources useful as they look to become more disability smart.”

Earlier this year, the Business Disability Forum stated that working age disabled people had been forgotten in the UK Government’s plan to reform social care funding.

The organisation stated that the funding did not offer relief for disabled people experiencing a minimally moving disability employment gap and who are typically earning less than their non-disabled peers.
