Naidex Birmingham

After postponing its show in March 2020 to 9 & 10 November 2020, Naidex has announced its second postponement as the event’s organisers have confirmed the event will be pushed back to March 2021.

Almost exactly a year on from when its 2020 show would have been held, the confirmed dates for Naidex 2021 are 9 & 10 March 2021.

According to Naidex organiser Roar B2B Media, the decision to postpone rather than go ahead in November came after consultation with stakeholders.

A statement from Roar B2B Media reads: “After extensive consultation with our partners, exhibitors and visitors, we have taken the extremely difficult decision to postpone the event until Spring 2021.

“We will be continuing our support of the independent living community through a number of digital initiatives in the run-up to the March event.”

The announcement continued: “ We welcome any input from our visitors and customers on such initiatives and are proud to be able to support the industry as much as we can through this difficult time. ”

Popular with end-users and healthcare professionals, Naidex is one of the longest-running shows in the independent living sector.

Originally set to take place on 17 & 18 March 2020, Naidex confirmed it was postponing the event less than two weeks before the event’s opening in response to rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation.

Since the COVIOD-19 outbreak and lockdown, the events industry has experienced significant disruption and, arguably, none more so than events catering for the disabled and elderly community – those most vulnerable to the disease.

At the end of July 2020, prime minister Boris Johnson confirmed that business conferences and events will be able to restart from October – dependent upon the current rate of infection locally and nationally across England.

Despite the announcement, however, many in the sector questioned whether Naidex would still go ahead as many industry events, such as the OT Show and the Posture and Mobility Group (PMG) Conference, announced postponements after the PMs speech.

Now confirmed, the postponed March 2021 event will still take place at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre (NEC).

It follows Rehacare, Europe’s largest mobility, access and assistive trade show, announcement back in May 2020 that it was postponing its September 2020 show to October 2021.
