Blatchford wins Birmingham Community Healthcare contract
A supplier of rehabilitation services to the NHS, Blatchford has announced a new contract to deliver prosthetic, orthotic and technician services on behalf of Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust.
Starting in April 2019 and awarded for five years, the contract will involve the largest centre in Birmingham as well as two partner centres in Wolverhampton and Stoke.
The company will work to deliver services to patients with amputation and limb loss. Additionally, the orthotic service will provide care to patients whose needs are deemed specialist and have not been met by the district orthotic services within the West Midlands.
Blatchford said in its announcement that it is looking forward to welcoming the clinical and technical team from the Birmingham centre as well as the two partner centres in Wolverhampton and Stoke.
This contract follows Blatchford’s recent success in securing new contracts to deliver wheelchair services to patients in Rotherham and to deliver specialist wheelchair services to patients in Mid Nottinghamshire.
Recently, Blatchford also sold its majority stake to private equity firm Capital CBPE as the company looks to expand globally and make further acquisitions.
A rehabilitation provider, Blatchford specialises in prosthetics, orthotics, specialist seating and wheelchairs. With 128 years of experience, Blatchford provides clinical services to patients in the NHS, military and internationally.
