Award-winning Peterborough retailer achieves highest turnover in over three decades
The Mobility Aids Centre has achieved most successful trading year to date, attributing the growth to service excellence, charity support and its provision of TGA scooters.
Established over three decades ago, the Peterborough-based mobility retailer operates from a 15,000sq. ft premises, with its 14 strong team running an independent living showroom, servicing department, warehouse and distribution facilities.
Reporting its highest ever annual turnover, the company has grown significantly over the past 12 months, maintaining an assessment-led service and focusing on customer service and high-quality products, according to the retailer.
In particular, The Mobility Aids Centre highlighted the key role TGA’s product ranges have been in achieving the impressive growth, with the Zest, Zest Plus and folding Minimo Plus 4 car boot scooters proving particularly popular amongst customers.
Jason Watling, Director at The Mobility Aids Centre, commented: “In terms of turnover, 2018 is predicted to be our most successful year ever. We are proud of this commercial milestone, however, the financial side of the business is not what drives us, we are passionate about helping people.
“To see the difference our quality products, such as TGA mobility scooters, make to the lives of individuals never fails to fill us with a sense of achievement. The dependability of TGA products means our customers have the confidence to venture out and experience more from life without the worry.”
In addition to its commercial activities, the mobility retailer also helps and supports the local community it operates in through a variety of charitable programmes.
As well as being The Mobility Aids Centre’s director, Jason Watling is also chairman of Disability Peterborough, a centre offering free advice for disabled people, their carers and families. The retailer provides the charity with office space, manpower and fundraising initiatives, embedding the retailer in the heart of the community.
The announcement of its record turnover comes following a raft of award and accreditation wins over the last decade, including ISO 9001 accreditation in 1996, UK Retailer of the Year Award in 2005, ‘Highly Commended’ Motability status in 2017 and being officially recognised as a Centre of Excellence and an Elite Retailer.
Additionally, directors David and son Jason Watling have both received Civic Awards for their service to the community.
