A manufacturer of specialist bathing and care equipment, Astor Bannerman has announced the appointment of Helen Evans to the position of Changing Places Marketing Executive at its specialist Changing Places division Aveso.

Aveso was created as platform set up between Astor Bannerman and OpeMed to sponsor the Changing Places campaign and lead on the installation of Changing Places facilities.

The platform aims to provide a high-quality turnkey service for people installing Changing Places facilities, including consultation, survey and installation of equipment. Aveso strives to make the provision of a Changing Places toilet facility seamless and easy.

Joining the team, Helen will support Aveso’s mission to increase the availability of Changing Places toilets in the UK and internationally through the provision of free impartial advice, technical expertise and practical support.

She brings over 10 years’ experience in marketing and having worked within both commercial and not-for-profit organisations, she is ideally placed to support campaigners and charitable organisations, as well as architects, building contractors and venues.

Commenting on starting her now role as Changing Places Marketing Executive, Helen said: “I am incredibly excited to be joining Aveso. With the new legislation making Changing Places toilets a legal requirement in many building developments from January 2021, it is more important than ever that we continue to ensure quick, seamless installation of Changing Places, and I can’t wait to be a part of it.”

Recently, Astor Bannerman, as part of Aveso, installed 100 Tesco Changing Places toilets as the supermarket giant continues to improve accessibility across its stores.

In the 2020 Budget, Chancellor Rishi Sunak MP announced a £30 million investment to increase access to Changing Places toilets via the Changing Places Fund.

The new program sees the UK Government match-fund the costs of installing the facilities into existing buildings in England, with government working closely with the Changing Places Consortium and others to identify sectors where the provision of the facilities needs to be accelerated the most.

Alongside the new Changing Places Fund, the government also confirmed that new, or majorly refurbished, large buildings used by the public must have Changing Places toilets from the end of 2020.
