Ableworld Conference 2019
Ableworld’s 2019 Annual Business Conference in Cheshire

Reacting to the evolving coronavirus epidemic sweeping the UK, Ableworld has postponed its annual business conference to protect its retail partners.

With over 30 branches in Ableworld’s retail network, the annual event brings together business partners from across the UK to discuss strategy, share best practice and celebrate the company’s achievements.

Describing the decision to reschedule as difficult but the right one to make to ensure the safety of its staff, the conference was set to take place this weekend and on Monday.

Mike Williams, Managing Director of Ableworld, stated: “It seemed crazy in the current climate to bring all our business partners together for a conference when if any one of us or the hotel staff have the coronavirus, the whole network would have been on two-week isolation. Therefore, there was only one responsible action to take.”

Ableworld’s postponement comes days after Naidex, the UK’s largest mobility and independent exhibition, announced it was postponing its event until later in the year, as well Med-Tec Innovation Expo pushing back its show until September.

Providing more insight into the decision, Mike continued: “Naturally the conference should have been about the positive situation Ableworld is in at present along with their growth plans. Plus, of course, the messages from the speakers that were coming along for the day. However, the elephant in the room would always have been the discussion over the present national crisis, so we have postponed the conference until later in the year.

“We thank all the planned speakers and we hope they understand the reasons for postponement and hope they will be available when a new date is decided,” finished Mike.

The decision follows a recent investment by Ableworld to significantly increase its stockholding by almost £600,000, ensuring it is able to meet customer demand in the event of a supply shortage caused the COVID-19 outbreak.
