A UK provider of wheelchair services to the NHS, AJM Healthcare has been re-awarded coveted CECOPS accreditation for another three years following a full assessment at its North West London Wheelchair Service contract.

The North West London Wheelchair Service contract covers the Barnet, Brent, Central London, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, and West London Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) areas.

Stephen Peck, Managing Director at AJM Healthcare, said: “Retaining the North West London CECOPS accreditation for a further three years highlights the great service that the team in Park Royal continues to deliver.”

CECOPS (Community Equipment Code of Practice Scheme) CIC is a user-led, independent certification and standards body, which aims to raise the standard of all assistive technology services across the UK and beyond. This includes community equipment services, wheelchair and seating services, telecare, telehealth and communication aids.

CECOPS accreditation is a regular feature in service specifications for assistive technology services and is a way of assuring commissioners that services are meeting the best outcome-based quality and performance related standards in the sector.

AJM Healthcare says that regaining the prestigious CECOPS accreditation emphasises its continued assurance of quality and standards, not only for its North West London services, but for all of the company’s services nationwide.

It adds that its focus on improvement and engagement ensures that the provider can deliver a high-quality service, with a service user-centred approach.

A quote from the audit about the company’s wheelchair service stated: “The commissioner is very proud of the joint work with the service provider and service user forum which results in improvements to service delivery, to better meet service users’ needs.

“The members of the forum are satisfied that AJM listens and responds and is constructively working with service users to improve the service. Staff involvement in the forum was commended.”

Last year, AJM Healthcare gained CECOPS Corporate Accreditation for its community equipment, integrated wheelchair services and approved repairer services.

During the pandemic, the provider has also been supporting the COVID-19 vaccination programme by providing wheelchairs within its local wheelchair services areas in the UK to help elderly and disabled individuals attend their appointments. The company provides wheelchair services for NHS Brent CCG, NHS Ealing CCG, NHS Milton Keynes CCG and many more CCGs nationwide.
