Active Hands faces the Dragon's DenThe CEO from The Active Hands Company is set to face the BBC One’s ‘Dragons’ Den’ next week, showcasing his firm’s range of gripping aids for those with reduced hand function.

Rob Smith MBE, from the Midlands, who was previously named one of the UK’s most influential people with disability, created the company after a spinal cord injury in 1996.

Frustrated by how his affected hands prevented him from holding gym equipment, he created a range of gripping aids to hold his hands securely around objects needed for daily living.

The Active Hands Company has grown from strength to strength and on Thursday 19th February at 8pm, Rob and his colleague Jo, will face the Dragons, asking for investment in their company to help spread the word of their gripping solutions and create further growth for their company.Active Hands at Dragons Den

Rob commented: “I really enjoyed the experience and the chance to talk about the business our team have been working so hard to build for so many years.”

Jo agreed, adding: “The crew were so supportive and guide you through the whole process.

“You’re on your own in there, but you know you have support just outside the door. I’m so excited and nervous to see our pitch on TV!”

The firm cannot share the outcome in advance, but it is possible to catch the episode on BBC One on 19th February at 8pm, or afterwards on demand on iPlayer.
