Stairlift supplier celebrates dealers reaching new heights at glamorous awards ceremony
At Handicare’s black-tie gala evening, the stairlift supplier recognised, celebrated and rewarded the exemplary performance of a number of outstanding dealers at the Handicare Awards 2019.
Praising dealers who are growing stairlift sales profitably, Handicare says the awards aim to give high achievers their much-deserved time in the spotlight.
Hosted by solider, sniper and survivor Ant Middleton – best known as the Chief Instructor from Channel 4’s SAS: Who Dares Wins – the famous adventurer and television presenter discussed motivation and leadership, explaining his interesting past and what drove him to reach for new heights by conquering Mount Everest.
The Awards ceremony was held during Handicare’s Dealer Day, where Handicare dealers from across the country gathered to share in the stairlift supplier’s success and learnings over the past 12 months.
Winners were announced over a memorable three-course meal, which saw three tenors compete in a sing-off to the surprise and delight of attendees, helping the evening hit a particularly high note.

Based in Hinckley, Leicestershire, Premier Mobility has been providing a service to the less able since 1994, selling a wide range of mobility products from its large showroom, including hoists, wheelchairs, scooters, bathlifts, adjustable profiling beds, rise and recliner chairs.

Founded by Richard and Tina Holland-Oakes in 2008 from his dining room table, the company now boasts a £3million turnover and is renowned in the industry for specialising in complex mobility solutions. With premises in both Witney and Kettering, the company maintains its family values with Richard and Tina’s children now playing important roles within the growing company.
Able Plus
The Dublin-based provider of stairlift solutions to private clients, local authorities and care homes has been operating in the market for over 15 years, selling, servicing, maintaining, renting and offering buyback on all types of stairlift.
TPG DisableAids
Established in 1985 by Tony and Pam Gibbs, the Herefordshire still retains its strong family principles, with its strapline “Let our family help your family.”
Headed up by Alastair Gibbs, a regular contributor to THIIS and a well-known figure in the mobility industry, TPG offers a range of services and products in the industry for those living in Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Shropshire and Wales.

Advanced Stairlifts has grown steadily in reputation over the years, working closely with occupational therapists and other health care professionals responsible for commissioning mobility equipment on behalf of clients, to become one of Scotland’s leading disabled lift and service providers to Local Authorities and individuals alike.
DSL Mobility
With showrooms in Wrexham and Bangor, DSL is one of the North West’s leading suppliers of mobility scooters, stairlifts and wheelchairs, as well as a vast range of other mobility equipment.

Prism Medical
A provider of specialist moving, handling and bathing equipment for over 30 years with a turnover exceeding £40million, Prism Medical was sold by investment company LDC to Limerston Capital at the end of 2018. The company confirmed it is now planning to release a number of new products to the market, having recently released its Mackworth Essentials Mobile Hoist.
Ableworld Southampton
Ableworld’s top franchise recently expanded its store, being the first branch to fit a stairlift showroom and education area at the end of 2018, which it says is one of the largest in the UK.
