Mobility retailer uses social media to get scooter sale in pole position

Harrogate-based Yorkshire Care Equipment has shared an interesting video across its social media platforms to promote its annual Great Yorkshire Scooter Sale.

Employing a creative, multi-channel approach to raise awareness of its scooter sale, the video – shared on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter – features employees having a scooter race, as well as providing viewers with an image of the showroom, a selection of scooters and additional information about the sale.

The video somewhat goes against the grain of advertising seen in the industry, using newer social media channels to highlight the more energetic and enjoyable aspects of mobility scooters.

A caption appearing alongside the race in the video emphasises this, saying: "Even our staff are loving the sale models - can you blame them?”

In Stannah’s recent Silver Census study, it was revealed that older people are engaging with social media channels, with the research highlighting that people aged 65 are very active on platforms such as Facebook and YouTube.

Yorkshire Care Equipment is a mobility aids and care equipment supplier offering a range of products such as ramps, scooters, stairlifts and rise and recline chairs. The company’s Great Yorkshire Scooter Sale ends in August.
