Council to source stairlift, lift and hoist providers

North East Lincolnshire Council are searching for companies to supply stairlifts, lifts and hoists to disabled residents in the borough, speeding up delivery of adaptations. The contract will also include a lot for the maintenance and servicing of stairlifts, lifts and hoists that are outside of the guarantee period.

The stairlift, hoist, lifts and maintenance tender aims to provide safer homes to residents and a ‘ much improved service for disabled residents in the borough’ according to the cabinet paper.

Following a review, North East Lincolnshire Council established a new, bespoke framework would be required which can maximise recycling of equipment to reduce costs.

The new framework will be divided into lots, with a single supplier being appointed to each deliver each lot. These lots include:

  • Installation of stairlifts
  • Installation of hoists
  • Installation of through floor lifts
  • Repairs and maintenance of stairlifts, hoists and through floor lifts

The current maintenance lot is up for renewal in July 2017 and the contracts will run for a period of three years with an optional one year extension.

The paper also points out that there is a potential risk of the maintenance contract expiring without a new service provider being in place.
